Intensive Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water systems, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Russian forces has increased strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles struck the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes overnight. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

He said utility staff and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
